Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

💡 Did you know?

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) may be more responsive to a functional approach than traditional approach to medicine!

Over the past few months, Dr. Plumser has been asked to evaluate several patients with PCOS. Many of these women have been previously diagnosed and want some answers as how to better handle their condition. Often, these patients are discouraged as they haven’t seen improvements with traditional treatments. This is where a functional approach comes in!

True treatment requires an exact diagnosis, along with a holistic evaluation of other contributing conditions and underlying issues.

When Dr. Plumser conducts an evaluation for PCOS, he differentiates among the four types of PCOS:

1. Insulin resistant type

2. Birth control pill type

3. Inflammatory type

4. Secondary or Hidden type

Although there are some general treatments – like lifestyle changes -- that can be utilized for all types of PCOS, the actual type of PCOS is critical, as this dictates the initial, short-term approach and the long-term approach we advise. Based upon clinical and laboratory information that we obtain through our holistic evaluations AND the symptoms that an individual client may be suffering, we can teach our clients how to control and conquer this disorder.

In most instances, we can conquer PCOS without the use of medications or surgery.
