As a leading wellness expert and mentor, Dr. Allan Plumser continues to devote his life to helping people reclaim their health by treating the root cause of disease and empowering them to make healthy lifestyle choices. The evolution of Elite Digestive and Integrative Healthcare of East Brunswick encompasses over thirty years of training, research and successful patient outcomes.
Dr. Plumser graduated from New York Medical College. He received his training in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York in Stony Brook Health Sciences Center in conjunction with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Northport, Long Island. He subsequently stayed on at the Center and University Hospital for advanced training and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Plumser was appointed as the clinical fellowship director in Gastroenterology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He was then named Director of Endoscopy at the institution. Dr. Plumser became Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology at St. Peter's University Hospital, during which time he established a specialized gastroenterology unit at the hospital and supervised the opening of an advanced endoscopy unit.
In the next few years, Dr. Plumser became quite interested in the use of nutritional supplementation and proper nutrition for maintenance and improvement of health. He became a motivational speaker focusing on nutrition-driven health improvement. In addition, he completed a full training program in Age Management Medicine and became a member of the Age Management Medicine Group.
Dr. Plumser has incorporated multiple methods in his approach to patients, believing that in order to prevent disease, reverse disorders, and relieve chronic conditions, he needs to treat the patient as a whole. In order to accomplish this, in addition to continuing to use contemporary medical knowledge and techniques, he has added any method proven useful. This includes nutritional intervention, exercise prescriptions, stress and relaxation management, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, breathing and energy techniques, and of course Age Management therapies.
On a personal note, Dr. Plumser continues to see improvement of various disorders obtained with lifestyle improvement, nutritional improvement, supplementation, and even hormone replacement therapy. He practices what he preaches.
